In this lesson, I gained a deeper understanding of how different devices communicate through data communication and how they process the information they send and receive through data representation.

As an IT professional, this knowledge allows me to grasp computing systems, especially networked systems, at a more granular level. I am confident that the concepts I’ve learned will be valuable not only in my professional work but also in my everyday life.

I learned that Single Processor Systems can be single-core or multi-core. Single-core systems came before multi-core systems. Improvement of single-core systems were focused on increasing clock speed. However, due to physical and practical limits, they adopted multi-core systems, which improved performance by allowing parallel execution of tasks rather than relying only on faster clock speeds.

Hi, I am Nicole Emmanuelle B. Doña, a BS Computer Engineering graduate from Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna. During my stay at MMCL, I was actively involved in two organizations: the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines – MMCL, where I served as Auditor and was part of the Creative Committee, and the Mapúa MCL Association for Computing Machinery, where I contributed as a member of the Membership Committee.

I am currently pursuing Master of Information Systems at the University of the Philippines Open University to further deepen my expertise in technology and digital systems. Professionally, I am an Associate Software Engineer at Accenture.

Aside from my passion for technology, I also enjoy playing the electric guitar
